This gasket is cut from a sheet of Fel-Pro Karropak 3045 tan fiber gasket material, which is rated for a variety of oils, coolants, and even gasoline, and at 0.04 centimeters thick, works great as a sealing gasket. This gasket will come wrapped to a matching sheet of cardboard to protect it from bends and dings. I recommend using a thin layer of water pump gasket maker on each side of this gasket to ensure a proper seal, as this is what I have always done and have had pretty good luck so far doing it like this. Why make a mess squishing the plates together with RTV when you could use a properly cut gasket?
