PUSH TO START DESIGN | founded october 2017

Owned and operated by a single person.

If you don’t know anything that goes into making vinyl decals, you will be surprised to find that it can all be done by a single person. That would be me, Andi! You can follow my adventure with Push To Start on instagram @pushtostartdesign or my personal account @minimiata to see what I’m doing to my cars, especially my ride-or-die Casper.

I have been making vinyl since late 2015 as a hobby. It wasn’t until 2017 that I decided to make a small business out of it. Push To Start may have began with vinyl decals and button pins, but there’s always room for more, hence the expansion to printed stickers, hand made charms, and even key tags! Even though Push To Start was originally founded in San Jose, California, it has since moved to Olympia, Washington.

Pushtostart’s decals and stickers are produced using Photoshop and Illustrator, and heavily inspired by whatever I’m currently interested in at the time.

Push To Start has produced designs and decals for groups and companies such as Bay Area Discord Drivers, Too Hot!, Dead Love Club/Kamikaze Girls, Diablo Knights, Phenoh, OnGrid track org, Aletheia Motorsports, AR Mobile Tire, Concordia Baseball Team, GH Motors, Annex Suspension, Battle Garage Racing Service, Duncan Motors, Illumaesthetic, Star Cruiser Drive Yard, Washington’s Gambler 500 members, and more!

Besides the Miata, I also have a MR2 AW11 named Misato that I share with my boyfriend! The restoration of the AW11 is what led me to recreating OEM decals, especially since many are either unavailable, or simply too expensive! I am always taking suggestions for more vehicles and decals to recreate, including limited edition or custom sized options. For example, the Twin Cam 16 decals on the tail lights of the MR2 were not available by default in the United States – but they should have been. You can follow Misato’s progress on instagram @misatomr2!

I also have to give an honorable mention to this additional rescue AW11 for being a great project. This AW11’s restoration won’t be nearly as quick as Misato’s, but it’s coming along bit by bit. Follow my instagram for updates on Red Bean.
